Dubai Fashion Week AW26-27 Kicks Off

The international fashion circuit has officially commenced its autumn-winter 2026-2027 cycle, with Dubai Design District (d3) taking the lead as the first global destination to unveil the new season's collections. By moving to the front of the calendar, the city reinforces its role as a strategic intersection where regional artistry meets the demands of the global market. Organized by the Arab Fashion Council, the event serves as a platform to influence international trends and facilitate commercial expansion for designers coming from Italy, France, India, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.
Alberta Ferretti Redefines Modern Femininity
The inaugural evening featured a landmark presentation by the Italian luxury label Alberta Ferretti, marking the house's first participation in Dubai Fashion Week. This showcase comes just weeks before the brand's scheduled appearance in Milan, signaling the growing importance of the Middle East to established European heritage brands.
Since taking over the creative direction in 2024, Lorenzo Serafini has introduced a contemporary grit to the label, which was founded nearly five decades ago. His latest work maintains the house's reputation for ethereal romance but anchors it with a newfound structural depth. The collection explored the concept of presence over performance, utilizing fabric to create a sense of effortless grace rather than theatrical display.
Standout pieces included:
- Fluid capes and skirts in creamy oatmeal tones, featuring intricate plissƩ textures and ruffled accents.
- One-shouldered gowns rendered in delicate layers of mustard-colored silk mousseline.
- Tailored, side-fastening jackets paired with structured leather midi skirts in deep chocolate and black.
- Drop-waisted grey dresses accessorized with skinny scarves, blending historical references with a contemporary "cool-girl" aesthetic.
A Diverse Schedule of Global and Regional Talent
While this season features a more curated and refined schedule, the lineup remains a potent mix of high-street giants and avant-garde creators. Following the sophisticated start by Ferretti, the week continues with several highly anticipated debuts and returning favorites.
British label John Richmond is making its first appearance on the Dubai runway, joined by the multibrand retailer That Concept Store, which focuses on non-conformist fashion. On Tuesday, the schedule highlights a mix of Lebanese streetwear and Parisian flair, with Emergency Room followed by the debut of high-street retailer Anthropologie. Victor Weinsanto, a regular fixture of the event, also returns for his third year to showcase his latest Parisian designs.
As the week progresses toward its conclusion on February 6, the spotlight will shift to regional powerhouses. Designers Lili Blanc and Lama Jouni are set to present their collections before the event reaches its climax. The closing honors belong once again to Indian couturier Manish Malhotra, who is expected to deliver a high-glamour finale, mirroring his successful closing show from the previous year.
